CHAPTER V — CONCERNING THE WAY TO GOVERN CITIES OR PRINCIPALITIES WHICH LIVED UNDER THEIR OWN LAWS BEFORE THEY WERE ANNEXED
Whenever those states which have been acquired as stated have been accustomed to live under their own laws and in freedom, there are three courses for those who wish to hold them: the first is to ruin them, the next is to reside there in person, the third is to permit them to live under their own laws, drawing a tribute, and establishing within it an oligarchy which will keep it friendly to you. Because such a government, being created by the prince, knows that it cannot stand without his friendship and interest, and does it utmost to support him; and therefore he who would keep a city accustomed to freedom will hold it more easily by the means of its own citizens than in any other way.
There are, for example, the Spartans and the Romans. The Spartans held Athens and Thebes, establishing there an oligarchy, nevertheless they lost them. The Romans, in order to hold Capua, Carthage, and Numantia, dismantled them, and did not lose them. They wished to hold Greece as the Spartans held it, making it free and permitting its laws, and did not succeed. So to hold it they were compelled to dismantle many cities in the country, for in truth there is no safe way to retain them otherwise than by ruining them. And he who becomes master of a city accustomed to freedom and does not destroy it, may expect to be destroyed by it, for in rebellion it has always the watchword of liberty and its ancient privileges as a rallying point, which neither time nor benefits will ever cause it to forget. And whatever you may do or provide against, they never forget that name or their privileges unless they are disunited or dispersed, but at every chance they immediately rally to them, as Pisa after the hundred years she had been held in bondage by the Florentines.
….But in republics there is more vitality, greater hatred, and more desire for vengeance, which will never permit them to allow the memory of their former liberty to rest; so that the safest way is to destroy them or to reside there. ( Chapter 5 The Prince- Nicolo Machiavelli)
Tyranny: The Art Of Dishonest Deception
It is a well known fact, at least among conjurers, That the more intelligent the audience the more readily will they be deceived by conjuring principles of which they have no knowledge: cause and effect are so rapidly associated that the unexpected denouement catches them off-guard. (Edwin A. Dawes)
“ It is difficult to mystify children and mental defectives because their general knowledge is limited, and their attention cannot be distracted or misdirected by suggestions of factors they do not understand. Never be ashamed if you are fooled; only your intelligence is proved.” ( 1)(Vincent H. Gaddis)
“Intelligent persons try to explain what they see in terms of their extensive knowledge of causes and effects, and the remarks of the performer assist in confusing them. On the other hand, children, lacking adult knowledge, rely on direct observation. When the performer points his finger at something on the other side of the stage, the adults look in the direction indicated, but the children first look at his finger. The more intelligent a person is, the more he uses his mind instead of his eyes. Thus he fools himself.” (2)
“Misdirection is possible because of the power of suggestion. It is a psychological fact that the first impulse of people is to believe. Doubting is usually secondary. And the power of suggestion wields a tremendous influence on our lives and opinions.
An actor using suggestion can baffle trained magicians. Some years ago a group of twelve professional prestidigitators in Chicago went to see Frederick Tiden play the part of Cagliostro in the play, The Charlatan. During the performance Tiden produced flowers and silks from empty boxes. The magicians knew that no magical principle or secret known to them was being used by the actor. After the show they invited Tiden to have lunch with them.
Tiden was surprised when he learned that his tricks had fooled the wizards. He explained that the man who appeared most innocent of helping him–the villain, a skeptic who opposed Cagliostro constantly–had secretly introduced the silks and flowers into the boxes while apparently making sure they were empty. The suggestion that Cagliostro and the skeptic were bitter enemies was made so strongly throughout the play that the magicians never suspected that the villain was actually Tiden’s helper and made his miracles possible.” (3) (source)
The techniques used by magicians, who practice: “The Honest Art Of Deception”, Are often used in politics.
We are told one thing, while the reality is something completely different.
Our Debt-Money System, in reality, has no money. Instead, A “Money Cartel” conjures Federal Reserve Money out of thin air. And to add insult to injury, they charge interest on this “debt-money.” So an impossible, to pay off the debt, situation is created because only the principal is created and the interest is not monetized.
This means that no matter how productive you are or how much real wealth is created by labor, The “debt-money system is our society’s creditor (master), while we are perpetual debtors (slaves). That, my friends, is the definition of a feudal society not a Constitutional Republic.
Edmond Burke said :
“The people never give up their liberties but under some delusion.”
In the quote above, it mentions how magicians were fooled. Politics uses this technique all the time.
We have a two party system that, at the top, pursues a shared agenda. So, good people in each party will support this party. But, when an important agenda item must be passed. The party leadership will betray their constituents to achieve their goal. Often working with the leadership of the “opposition” party.
Did you know the Republican Party was founded by radicals to pursue a radical agenda?
Remember the trade legislation: NAFTA and GATT.
Championed by Bill Clinton working with the Republican Speaker of the House, Newt
Remember President Eisenhower. A lot of Republicans wore the button “I Like Ike” without realizing that Ike was a democrat who praised FDR. The Republican leadership betrayed good members of the party who supported Taft because Taft opposed the Republican leaderships Globalist agenda. So, They engineered Ikes switch to the Republicans and thus deny Taft the nomination..
Remember Richard Nixon, The Anti- Communist?
Who Better to open China and pave the way for the creation of a powerful enemy and a hollowing out of the American economy. Who would suspect an anti-communist to so powerfully aid the communist Chinese.
Remember Obama’s birth certificate, draft card, passport, citizenship, ect. Scandals.
It was “Team Obama” in the controlled opposition that made his election possible. The Republican leadership ignored good party members concerns. Fox news, Rush Limbaugh and a large cast of establishment approved media filtered, censored, and downright fabricated the impression that these concerns had been addressed.
“Team Obamas” most important members are the ones the public perceives as opposing him. Look close at people and organizations who proclaim their support for your values.
Rush Limbaugh was for the bailout of the Mexican Peso. He was for NAFTA and GATT, Free Trade outsourcing of jobs and the betrayal of the American economy.
He supported the neo-con agenda with all its wars, war on terror, and giving a pass to bankers and criminals in corporations. No callers to his show can discuss JFKs murder, Waco, the Oklahoma City bombing , 911, Boston bombing evidence, witnesses or ideas that are outside of the establishment medias approved boundaries. Millions of good Americans end up supporting un-American ideas because of Rush.
Fox news is definitely an important member of “Team Obama”.
Why were Judge Napolitano and Glenn Beck let go from Fox? Replaced by who? Geraldo? Juan Williams? Bill O’Reilly?
“Team Obama” by a phenomenon know as “choice blindness” force a choice on the public and the public being unaware of what is happening may be convinced it was their choice.
