Police Surveillance: Privacy Invading Radar Can ‘See’ Through Walls

Via: TomoNews US

At least 50 U.S. law enforcement agencies are now equipped with a radar device that allows them to detect human movement through the walls of houses.

The device known as Range-R operates as a highly sensitive Doppler motion detector, according to its official website.

It can detect human movement from a distance of up to 50 feet, the USA Today reports.

The device beams radar waves through a wall and calculates the distance of the target by analyzing the reflected waves, according to manufacturer L-3 Communications.

The device has a 160-degree conical field of view and can detect movements as slight as human breathing.

It works through brick as well as concrete, but cannot penetrate metal, according to the Inquisitr.

Use of the technology raises both legal and privacy issues and a 2001 U.S. Supreme Court ruling barred authorities from using high-tech sensors to scan inside someone’s home without first obtaining a search warrant.

Who is Watching the ‘Deep State’ Watchers?

Bill Binney Quotes:

” I should apologize to the American people. It’s (the NSA)                         violated everyone’s rights. It can be used to eavesdrop on the whole world.”

“FBI (and NSA) wants to know everything about you, and you’re not supposed to know anything about them.”

“The ultimate goal of the NSA is total population control”

Are you scared about Donald Trump having the NSA capabilities and powers in his hands?
“I look at it in this way: he is doing exactly as he said he would do in the campaign. During the campaign he said he would abide by the Constitution of the United States, now if he does that, he has to stop these programs, because they are unconstitutional, obviously. On the other hand, if he adopts this process, he is going to have the same powers as Obama had. That kind of power should not exist in any kind of government, because it really creates a totalitarian state. It’s like Stasi on super-steroids; instead of having folders with papers on everybody, they have everything that you do stored electronically, so it is a much more complete, up-to-date and mineable set of information and they can manipulate it, and do anything they want to you. That is the problem with it: no government should have it”. (read full interview)

‘Taxation by Citation’: Revenue Predators Prey On Drivers

“Car owners and drivers become prey for police predators. When a police car is in view, the driver feels fear rather than the comfort of protection. There is fear that, like a spider bearing down on a trapped fly, one will become a victim, not only having to pay the citation tax, but having to waste time in traffic school or having the bear the cost of higher insurance payments.”  – Eric Schmitt

“Excessive traffic fines create distrust between the police and the people. What’s needed is tax reform that eliminates the financial incentive for taxation by citation.” – Fred Foldvary

Stop Short Yellow Light Trickery

“Several cities have been caught shortening yellow light times to increase ticket camera profits and we think there are more yet to be discovered.

Red-light cameras can only remain profitable at poorly engineered interesections. Once an intersection is fixed, the money dries up quickly. And once the money is gone, the cameras disappear.

We’ve already seen it happen in North Carolina. After the Courts forced cities to give their profits to local schools, the majority of the ticket camera programs in the state shut down.”

On May 31, 2008, approximately 130 members of the CAID gathered for Funk Night, a well-publicized monthly event featuring music and dancing from midnight to 5 a.m. Shortly after 2 a.m., Detroit police officers, dressed entirely in black, with their faces masked and guns drawn, stormed into the CAID and ordered everyone present to lie face down. Many of the CAID’s patrons were standing in the back yard and were forced to lie with their faces in the mud.

Those who asked questions, including a lawyer, or did not move fast enough were kicked to the ground by police officers. The officers then separated men and women and searched them all, issuing each a misdemeanor citation for “loitering in a place of illegal occupation.” The officers also seized the cars of anyone who had driven to the CAID under Michigan’s “nuisance abatement” statute. In total, approximately 130 loitering citations were issued and more than 40 vehicles were seized.

Dan Korobkin, ACLU of Michigan staff attorney:

“In a free country, the police may not conduct commando-style raids on innocent people and seize their property without justification,” said Dan Korobkin, ACLU of Michigan staff attorney. “We hope this case will put a stop to the Motor City shakedowns we’ve seen across the city – the practice of arresting innocent people, seizing their cars, and refusing to return them unless they pay a $900 ransom.”

In a 32-page opinion, U.S. District Judge Victoria A. Roberts ruled that the police violated the Fourth Amendment when they arrested everyone at the art gallery merely for being present and seized their cars without evidence that they had broken a law. In addition, Judge Roberts found that the police misconduct at the CAID was not an isolated incident, but was in fact part of “a widespread practice” and “custom” by the Detroit Police Department of unconstitutionally “detaining, searching, and prosecuting large groups of persons” and impounding their cars based on their mere presence at a raid location.

Belligerent Cops and Unconstitutional Checkpoints

Illinois Cop Loses It As Driver Attempts To Exercise Rights At Unconstitutional Checkpoint

Whacked out officer rips open car door and yells like a drill sergeant

An enraged police officer in Illinois was caught on camera during an exchange Friday with a driver who attempted to exercise his Constitutional rights at a random police checkpoint – making for compelling yet disturbing viewing.

Ryan Scott set a camera in his car to record as he was ushered into the checkpoint, believing that his rights were about to be trampled upon. The resulting footage shows what happened when Scott asked police whether he was being detained or not.

Scott writes “I was just stopped at an unconstitutional CHECKPOINT in DeKalb, Illinois. This was Illinois State Police conducting the unconstitutional searches. You won’t believe how this just went down!” The action begins at 3.30 mins.

When he explained to the first officer that he was not obligated to provide his driver’s license if he is not being detained or suspected of committing a crime, the second officer ripped open the car door and yelled “YOU KNOW WHAT, YOU ARE OBLIGATED, GET OUT NOW!”

Under the Fourth Amendment, police are not allowed to search vehicles without probable cause or consent from the driver.

“DRIVING IS A PRIVILEGE NOT A RIGHT.” the cop nevertheless continued to yell at Scott.

“He was not aware that he was being recorded when he ripped my door open. Unbelievable!” Scott writes.

“This kind of misconduct and behavior is not acceptable. This is what happens when you exercise your Constitutional Rights as a law abiding American citizen.” he adds.

Clearly there came a point during the exchange when the officer opted to use fierce intimidation. Scott, fearing he would be physically assaulted, complied with the officer, rather than pursue the verbal exchange.

Scott further explains that he “completely forgot to ask for name and badge number because this guy scared the shit out of me.”

Ironically, the video was uploaded a day after the incident on ‘Thank a Police Officer Day’.

Police State Overreach: Uncut Grass Leads To ‘Police Raid’

Police barge into innocent woman’s home to make arrest over grass length

“I don’t give a sh*t what you see. Go get your ID,” the officer growled. “You see that?! It says POLICE.”

TURTLE CREEK, PA — Police officers barged into a woman’s home because they wanted to arrest the owner because of the length of the front lawn.  A tenant answered the door and recorded the rude, obscenity-spewing cops making demands and entering her home, despite the fact that she wasn’t even the person listed on the warrant.

* * * * *

The incident occurred on May 29, 2013. Robyn Ruckman discovered that no less than five police officers were waiting outside. Two were from the Turtle Creek Police Department, two were from East Pittsburgh Police, and one was from the Allegheny County Housing Authority.

As Ms. Ruckman answered the door, police treated her rudely and started making demands.  She told them her name but that wasn’t good enough.  They wanted her to produce ID.

“You know, I don’t even see a nametag,” Ruckman told the lead officer.

“I don’t give a sh*t what you see. Go get your ID,” the officer growled. “You see that?! It says POLICE.”

After asking them to stay outside, officers barged into her home.

“No, I can’t wait here, because I think you’re trying to avoid us,” one of the officers said.

Police were performing a 12-hour roundup of the town’s code violators, such as those accused of having uncut grass.

Ms. Ruckman got off easy after she proved her identity; she was just a tenant. The team of officers had been sent after her landlord, Roben Edwards, who had fallen on hard times as she fell ill and struggled with ovarian cancer.

There is an 800% higher probability Americans Will be Killed by Police Than by a Terrorist

The Ferguson incident has exposed the underbelly of the United States and now everyone is starting to pay attention that there is a higher risk of being killed by police even when they chase or shoot at people who need not be you. The risk is 800% greater that you will be killed by POLICE rather than a terrorist. The Economist has reported the death by police so far are ZERO in Japan and Britain, 8 in Germany and 409 in America.

But that is not the half of it. Since 911, the police have killed more people than the terrorists are claimed to have done in those attacks. It is getting to the point that if you see a policeman in the USA, you better try to move away. This is no longer the ’50s. If there is a cat in the tree, my bet they will try to shoot it first but probably take down the tree with the hail of bullets. Police seem to think they have the right to play soldier and war games on the streets of America.
